GERSTAL045 - Feldwebel Directing Fire

GERSTAL047 - Gen. Walther von Seydlitz

GERSTAL046 - Gen. Friedrich Paulus

GERSTAL046 - German General Friedrich Paulus, Commander German 6th Amry

Our first "personality" figure for our Stalingrad figure range is the German 6th Army Commander Friedrich Paulus. Paulus was an excellent staff officer, giften in the planning and logistics side of war, but many had their doubts about his decisiveness and ability to command troops in the field. At Stalingrad, Paulus is often criticized for following Hitler's orders to the letter and failing to attempt to breakout once the 6th Army had become encircled. Hitler promoted him to Field Marshal in February of 1942 in a desperate attempt to keep him from surrendering knowing that no German Field Marshal had ever surrendered. Paulus lay down his sword to the Russians the following day. Paulus has become a controversial figure following the Battle of Stalingrad for both his actions there and his collaboration with the Russians following his surrender.

60mm Hand Painted figure for collectors from the World War II product range.
