WHAT’S HAPPENING IN JANUARY ’08?
“Operation Market Garden”
HERE’S A BIG SURPRISE!
Well at least I hope it is… the mighty ELEFANT… one of Germany’s biggest Self-Propelled Guns.
BBG008 “The ELEFANT”
This “baby” has been “in the works” for a few months and is a real beaut! Armed with the all-powerful 88mm gun our model is in typical 3-colour, late-war camouflage and comes with 3 figures (1x full body, 1x half body plus a “head ‘n’ shoulders” driver). “ELEFANTS” were mainly used on the Eastern Front although quite a few made it to Italy. No reason why it can’t also look good in a Normandy or Arnhem diorama. It’s a biggie!

American Armour Support
And here’s a little extra armour for our hard-pressed “Battle of the Bulge” GI’s… the M24 “Chaffee”. This is only our second version of this great little tank… and it’s a much improved version.
BBA018 “The M24 Chaffee Tank”
Our winter, snow-camouflaged version is perfect for the “Bulge” and comes with 3 figures (A full-body GI rifleman atop the tank plus half-body tank commander and another “head ‘n’ shoulders” driver).

SPECIAL NOTE: We are releasing an olive drab M24 without the “winter” look in a couple of months time… look out for it.
C. CONFEDERATES IN ACTION!
And here they are a whole big bunch of rebels going into action and in “skirmishing” order…

AVAILABLE: EARLY JANUARY
D. RETURN TO THE REICH…
Politically incorrect but Nazis do sell! And here’s some more to get your teeth into…

Can you recognize these five leaders?

3. BEING RETIRED
As usual here’s a list of the victims…

New incredible sets from Frontline for January
Just arrived: British and French Artillery for the French and Indian Wars plus 3 sets of French Marines. They are outstanding, some of the best figures from Frontline yet, in my totally biased opinion. The Artillery is first class.

BATTLE OF THE PLAINS OF ABRAHAM, 13th September 1759 THE RETREAT OF MONTCALM
Louis-Joseph de Montcalm-Gozon, Marquis de Saint-Veran
February 28, 1712 – September 14, 1759

The unpopular command of the French army in North America had been given to an obscure brigadier, who had been six times wounded in the late wars in Bohemia and Italy. Promoted to Major–General , Montcalm was given the North American command in February 1756. He was to be one of those rare generals whose men loved him as well as respecting him. His early campaigns against the British were major successes: Fort Oswego on Lake Ontario in 1756, Fort William Henry in 1757, and then the Battle of Carillon where he faced and defeated a British army five times bigger.
Major General the marquis of Montcalm was mortally wounded on the Plains of Abraham. He had been shot in the abdumen. The Royal Artillery later claimed it was a grape shot from one of the two cannon present at the battle. It is said Montalm entered the city of Quebec through the St. louis Gate, held in his saddle by a soldier on either side. Some women of the city, saw his wound and cried out, “Mon Dieu, le Marquis est tue!” He replied “Ce n’est rien, ce n’est rien: ne vous affligez pas pour moi, mes bonnes amies.”
He was taken to the house of Surgeon Arnoux and was told he had no more than twelve hours to live. Montcalm’s reply was that he was happy he would not live to see the surrender of Quebec. He was to die in the early hours of the day after the battle , the 14th September 1759, 4 days before the British were to enter the city. He was buried later the same day he died.
This set is composed of 5 figures and comes in 2 boxes. The edition is limited to 750. Please, order fast, this is the nicest set ever and it will go fast!
THE BATTLE ON SNOWSHOES
The first of the Snowshoes sets for 2008! But there will be a set released each month until November. The set for January is the second set of Roger’s Rangers, 3 more figures skirmishing.
