Scale of figures

One of the many questions we are asked is about the scale (size) of the miniature soldiers and how the figures compare from the different manufactures. Officially most of the figures are considered 1:32 scale or 54mm (2 1/2" including base). But even if most of them fall into the 1/32 scale or 54mm which is the standard scale for "toy soldiers", sometimes you could say some are made on a ‘beefy’ 1:32 scale – closer to 56mm.

3 left figures are King & Country 1:30 Scale, 3 right figures are Frontline Figures 1:32 Scale

King & Country, in our opinion the leader in the world of toy soldiers, produces toy soldiers close to 60mm. Considered to be in the family of 1/32 scale toy soldiers, these are sometimes said to be in the 1/30 scale. This slightly different scale gives them the advantage to show more details since the sculptors can work more deeply into each piece.

These unique toy soldiers, slightly larger than other brands, have to be displayed strategically when mixed with other. You have to play with the ‘distance factor’ when combining them, on your dioramas, with the 1/32 toy soldiers.

That being said the figurines we offer are usually compatible with 1:32 scale figures and vehicles. It is our belief that this gives you a vast assortment of figures and accessories to choose from in building a collection of historical miniatures.

We hope the following pictures will help you compare the figures of our different studios and suppliers.
