The Panzer IV Ausf. F was actually the third production variant to the Panzer IV. The initial versions A, B, and C, were used for development and training only. The first production unit was an Ausf. D. The Ausf. F featured a new turret design, a new drive sprocket and was the last variant armed with the short barrel 75mm gun.
