The Battle of Chippawa

The War of 1812 (known as the American War of 1812 in Britain to distinguish it from the larger war with Napoleon I of France that occurred in the same year) was fought between the United States of America and the United Kingdom and its colonies, especially Upper Canada (Ontario), Lower half of Canada (Quebec), Nova Scotia, Bermuda and Newfoundland.

The Battle of Chippawa was a victory for the American army in the War of 1812, during an invasion of Upper Canada along the Niagara River. It was the first victory for American soldiers against an equal British force in the field.
